Muni University, one of the newest public universities in the country, on Friday organised a cleanup campaign to commemorate three years of existence since the first cohort of students got admitted.
Under the theme: “Celebrating three years of teaching and learning in Muni University through hard work, cooperation, sanitation, hygiene and sacrifice so as to transform lives”, students cleaned up the university compound and washed cars in a bid to show their commitment and loyalty to the campus.
The event started in the wee hours of the morning with the students clad in their red casual gowns. They were joined by staff including the lecturers and they started cleaning offices and lecture rooms as well as the entire environment of the West Nile based institute.
The Academic Registrar, James Lam Lagoro said the day was a milestone to the university and they look forward to living the theme of the celebration as well as reach out to their neighbors of Ediofe and give quality education to Ugandans at large.
He added that they chose to carry out charity works in commemoration of the day so as to equip students with the spirit of voluntarism leven without pay.
