Muni University is one of the public universities in Uganda and is located in the North Western part of Uganda. On Thursday 23rd January 2020, the management of the West Nile based university embarked on training and orienting its staff on library services, procedures and resources in areas like Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), Institutional Repository, RemoteX (for off campus access to electronic resources), the Urkund Antiplagiarism, various e-books and e-journals. This was done to enable the university staff members perform their duties efficiently.
The staff was also trained on the newly introduced academics system, AIMS (Academic Information Management System) that is used by students and staff to view academic information and upload marks respectively.
On the other hand, Muni University vice chancellor Prof Christine Dranzoa received a new visiting lecturer Ms Adrianne White who is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from United States of America. She is going to be lecturing in the nursing department. This was one of the objectives in the partnership between Muni University and Seed Global Health that was initiated at the start of the Nursing Program.
The ceremony of welcoming Ms Adrianne was also graced by the director of Arua Regional Referral Hospital (ARRH) Dr Nyeko John Filbert who appealed to the university to produce more health practitioners at post graduate levels to meet the need of patients at Arua hospital.
