Uganda Christian University (UCU) has announced the burial programme for its slain Director of Students Affairs, Pamela Tumwebaze, who was brutally murdered at her home earlier this week.
Tumwebaze, 46, was attacked in the early hours of February 11, 2026, at her residence in Seeta, Mukono District. She was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Her death has left the university community in shock and mourning.
According to the official burial programme released by UCU, a series of services and vigils have been organized to honor her life and legacy.
A community worship service will be held on Thursday, February 12, at 12:00 noon in Nkoyoyo Hall at UCU, followed by a vigil at Emperor Hotel in Naalya at 6:00pm.
On Friday, February 13, a funeral service will take place at 10:00am in Nkoyoyo Hall at UCU Main Campus. After the service, her body will depart for Mbarara, where a vigil will be held in Nkokonjeru later that evening.
Further services are scheduled for Saturday, February 14, including a funeral service at Nkokonjeru Church of Uganda in Mbarara, before the body proceeds to Rubaya, Kashari, for a night vigil.
Pamela Tumwebaze will be laid to rest on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 12:00 noon at her family ancestral home in Keigoshora, Rubaya, Kashari in Mbarara District.
Born on September 30, 1979, Tumwebaze dedicated over two decades of her life to Uganda Christian University, serving in various academic and administrative roles before becoming Director of Students Affairs. She was widely respected for her commitment to student welfare and mentorship.
As tributes continue to pour in, the UCU community prepares to bid farewell to a leader many described as compassionate, principled, and deeply devoted to nurturing young people.
