President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Tuesday took a jibe at his opponent Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine. The National Unity Platform (NUP) Principal seeks to dislodge Museveni who has led Uganda for over 34 years now.
“Bobi Wine is not a youth. Someone who is in his late 30s is no longer youth- that’s a middle aged man,” Museveni said in an interview with Rx Radio by James Onen also known as Fatboy.
Museveni during the morning Fat Boy show was asked; “What would you say you can not relate to the needs of the youth?”
Prompting a reply from the old man with a hat; “When I started my work, I was in my 20s. I started leading the student movement. I know everything about the youth, I have youths in my house.
“We have created a base for the youth. The economy had collapsed, we revived it by- first of all bringing peace and clever private sector polices.
“The new factories in Namanve are creating jobs for the youths. There is some capital now for the youth, only that it is not enough. We need clever budgeting.
“The people who claim to be on the side of the youths are in parliament. I have never heard them raise up on the floor to demand more money for the Youth Livelihood Fund.
