As singer Bobi Wine continues to assure Kyadondo East citizens to entrust their votes in him, the Bikwase Kyagulanyi singer has come out to defend his MDD course that it has never been a hindrance to pursuing his political aspirations.
While speaking on a phone call to Beat Fm’s evening show yesterday, Bobi Wine was asked whether he can afford politics given his education background. Bobi wine answered the presenter by giving president Museveni as an example to take part in Ugandan politics. “President Museveni only Studied Kiswahili but he is our leader now. I will win not because of my MDD but because Kyadondo people trust me to lead them,” Bobi Wine revealed.
The rookie politician went ahead to reveal that he is not going to run on FDC ticket as many people have been speculating but rather will come independently with a lot of support from all the political parties.
It should be noted that Bobi Wine’s political dreams only became clearer when court ordered fresh elections for Kyadondo East be held again after the declared FDC candidate Kantinti victory was poked holes.
The court case was filed by the NRM candidate Sitenda Sebalu who was the former area MP. In a joint ruling last month by Justice Paul Mugamba, Justice Cheborion Barishaki and Richard Buteera found that there was noncompliance of the electoral laws which substantially affected the results. EC was ordered to hold fresh polls.
