Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has celebrated its 3rd year of partnership with Seed Global Health in providing emergence health care services to the people of South Western Uganda and Uganda at large.
In 2019, Seed Global Health, MUST and Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital formed a partnership to equip health professionals with skills of extending emergence health care services to neighboring communities of the partnering institutions.
Yesterday 14th June 2022, Seed Global Health, MUST and MRRH held a two-day annual partnership meeting to appreciate the work that has been done through reviewing year 3 implementation wins and lessons learned, review the existing partnership objectives and measurement and make necessary adjustments based on progress, develop key partnership priorities for the year and Identify educator needs for 2023-2024.
According to Mr. Allan Nsubuga the M&E programs Manager Seed Global, the partnership is for a period of 5 years and It’s about to enter its 4th year of providing emergence health care services and equipping health care professionals.
‘’For the last three years, we have registered successes in mentoring and training emergency health care professionals. Some of them are now tutors in the emergency medicine department at MUST and also serve in the emergency department at Mbarara Regional Referral hospital. The partnership has also resulted in the installation of ultrasound machine to enhance medical training and provide clinical services at Mbarara hospital,’ ‘ Nsubuga explained.
During the meeting, the partners held focus group discussions with a team from Seed Global Health Head Quarters experts in Boston-Massachusetts, United States of America (USA) to share new ideas aimed at improving emergency health care service delivery and developing an annual work plan for the year 2022-2023.
Seed Global Health, formerly known as Global Health Service Corps, is a non-profit organization started in 2011 which helps to provide nursing and medical training support in resource-limited countries.
Seed Global Health collaborates with the Peace Corps to create the Global Health Service Partnership
