The Academic Registrar of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) invites applications for the following three-year PhD programmes for the award of the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
In order to address the educational shortages at the doctoral level in the East African Region and elsewhere, Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) and MUST have collaborated to create the PhD programs as a cooperative institutional capacity-building initiative.
The affiliation between UTAMU and MUST for the operation of the aforementioned PhD programs was approved by the National Council for Higher Education at its 66th meeting on August 22, 2022.
Each PhD program will include extensive research and publications in journals with peer reviews that are recognized internationally.
Under the direction of his or her supervisor(s), each PhD student is required to publish at least two articles in recognized journals before receiving their degree.
Furthermore, each PhD program will include coursework, remedial lectures, workshops, and colloquial on writing scholarly papers.
The PhD Programmes target:
- University staff who would like to pursue a PhD degree.
- Lecturers in tertiary institutions.
- Research fellows.
- Next generation of academics with excellent master’s degrees and
- Top-level managers from the public and private sector who are desirous of acquiring a PhD.
