Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has given out 243 million Uganda shillings to aid in the construction of a permanent isolation center at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital (MRRH) and move away from the current temporary center (tarpaulin) they had set up earlier.
Professor Gertrude Kiwanuka, the Dean Faculty of Medicine MUST says they have decided to do this to promote their partnership with the hospital since it acts as a learning center for MUST students in addition to giving them free health services. The funds will assist the hospital in overcoming challenges they encounter while handling COVID-19 suspects.
Dr. Celestine Barigye, Director MRRH treasured and thanked MUST for the help they have donated to the hospital and added that, 108 million Shillings will be used to construct the isolation centre while the remaining 135 million will be used to facilitate volunteers and purchase personal protective equipment.
