Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has partnered with Belgium’s Howest University of applied science in research and collaboration.
The five year partnership is under the 10-year UCoBS programme focusing on strengthening community based education, research and Service.
The overall goal of the program, which is funded by the Belgian Flemish Interuniversity Council (VLIR-UOS), is to achieve improved and sustainable household livelihoods through addressing demographic challenges.
The partnership will also include staff/student exchange programs, teaching and collaboration on research, curriculum, academic material and publications.
This will be followed by an inspirational visit between 21st and 28th October 2022 by MUST staff to selected Flemish institutions as part of the UCOBS programme.
Flemish institutions visited included, the Vrije Universiteit Brussels, HOWEST (Kortrijk/Brugge), the Province of West Flanders’ Wereldhuis (Roeselare) and AP Hogeschool Antwerp.
