Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has partnered with Burundi’s University of Ngozi to enhance learning.
The partnership will usher in staff and student exchange programs, joint research projects, conferences, workshops and supervision of graduates from both Universities.
This understanding was reached during the Uganda-Burundi joint permanent Commission meeting held in Bujumbura city, Burundi.
MUST’s VC Professor Celestino Obua together with the institution’s international relations officer Ms Sheila Niinye discussed the collaboration with University of Ngozi’s Rector Father Apollinaire.
Among other issues discussed during the joint permanent commission meeting were Uganda-Burundi relations where Uganda pledged to enhance physical and communication infrastructure to boost bilateral ties and also better the lives of people living in both countries.
The Ugandan delegation was led by Hon. John Mulumba the Minister of state of Foreign Affairs while Albert Nshingiro (Burundi’s Minister of Foreign affairs) led Burundi’s delegation.
The partnership between MUST and University of Ngozi will foster learning as the two institutions continue to benchmark one another.
