Mr Denis Lukaya who has been the Public Relations Officer (PRO) at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has successfully been replaced and handed over the office to Ms Angela Nakato.
Mr Denis served as PRO since 2nd June 2011 in the regime of Prof Kayanja as the Vice chancellor, but his regime had alot of challenges that almost cost him his job. It should be recalled that Mr Denis was suspended in June 2019 for allegedly attacking MUST vice chancellor Prof Celestino Obua during the time when MUST staff were protesting against how the Prof was managing the University.
Mr Denis is now going to serve as a faculty administrator in the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology (FAST) that is located in Kihumuro campus.
“I wish my replacement at public relations a good tour of duty and pledge to support whenever my expertise is needed. It is a pleasure to handover office and am proud to have served two Vice chancellors. I thank you all it has been a pleasure to serve MUST as PRO.” Mr Denis said.
In other news at MUST, The teaching staff in the Faculty of Interdisciplinary studies (FIS) elected their new faculty dean who is Dr Bariyo Rogers. Dr Bariyo who is an economist replaced Dr Viola Nyakato who served for a period of four years. Congratulations Dr Bariyo we wish you the best in your regime.
