Today, 12th December 2019, all third year and fourth year students in the faculty of Business and Management Sciences at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) have been defending their research proposals.
It has been a one to one interview between the students and the panelist.
Tension developed among students ahead of their proposal defense and some of them pulled out their proposals to cram word by word, others were seen reading in the washrooms.
Time came and they were called up one by one to meet to their respective panelists.
When time for a one Emily approached, she said to her friends in Runyankore, “Banywani bangye munshabire ekinaza kukora kihikirire” which is translated as “My friends pray for me so that I succeed in what am going to do.”
After a period of 10 minutes, her colleagues who were outside waiting to face the panel, were called upon to go and carry Emily after fainting in the middle of her interview, she was rushed to the nearby health centre where she is currently.
“Emilly has been fine with us here and she requested us to pray for her as she was entering, but she is having some illness and top of that she has been on pressure because of this activity we are having now.” Albert a friend to Emily told our reporter.
