Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) through its research training initiative (MURTI) have organized a free two day medical camp (18th-19th February) to all the residents of Mbarara and the neighboring areas. The camp is being held at the university pharmacology sports grounds.
The initiative was mainly done to screen for blood pressure, diabetes, eye conditions, HIV and blood donation from the general public. This comes in a current situation where many people are in hospitals losing lives due to lack of enough blood.
This initiative has so far given free medication to over 100 people since yesterday when it commenced and it’s ending today.
The camp was sponsored by Mbarara Uiversity Research Training Initiative (MURTI), Lion Diabetes Retinopathy Project SW at Mbarara University and Referral Hospital Eye Centre (MUHEREC), Aids Information Centre(AIC) and Mbarara Regional Blood Bank.
