On Saturday 15th February 2020, four MUST students Nahurira Dickson, Andrew Nowarimpa, Annet Birungi and Muhangi Richard faced it rough when they were arrested after being found in possession of a S6 leaver by the name of Kemigisha Diana who was reported to have been kidnapped.
The four students plus Diana were detained in custody of Mbarara Central Police Station. Police investigations revealed that Diana had kidnapped herself because of her own intentions and she was seeking sympathy from other people. It was discovered that Diana was staying with her cousin sister (Annet Birungi) in Kanshanyarazi a residential area for MUST students where she was residing.
After disappearing from her parents for a while, the parents got concerned and they started looking for their daughter by alarming police which immediately started the hunt to rescue Diana. When Diana realized that the police had started looking for her, on Friday morning she left her cousin’s place and she went to Andrew (Dickson’s roommate) a friend to her boyfriend who stays in Boma Kakyeeka informing him that she was being followed by unknown people.
After 30 minutes of her arrival at Andrew’s place, the police arrived and they were found taking breakfast together with Dickson. The three of them were arrested plus her cousin and Muhangi who were picked from Kashanyarazi. The following Monday the four students were released on police bond and they were later cleared on Wednesday 19th February 24, 2020. By press time Diana was still behind bars to ascertain her motives of kidnapping herself.
