The Makerere University Transport and Logistics Association (MUTLA) has organized its first edition of the Transport and Logistics challenge 2017 for students of MUBS Nakawa and former course alumni to take part in part come next semester.
The challenge is meant to help suggest brilliant ideas formed by students directed towards government agencies like KCCA and URA with the hope of solving Transport and logistics problems. In turn, this will help MUTLA to create a partnership with these organizations through getting placements for student members.
Competitors are meant to team up with five others and present judges with essays on different topics introducing new ideas on increasing public transport usage, reducing transport and logistics costs, reducing pollution caused by transport sources, improving customs clearance time and applying ICT in transport and logistics. The judges will be from Uganda Revenue Authority, BALLORE and SPEDAG.
Registration for the program is meant to start 28th January at a fee of Shs 50,000/- per team/individual. Both the first and second place teams will receive fully paid trips to Mombasa and cash prizes of Shs 1m and Shs 500,000 respectively.A cash prize of Shs 250,000 will be given as a Popular Choice Award for the idea that will receive more votes from MUBS students.
