Your nail polish colour, like any other accessory is an extension of your overall presentation, therefore it matters. Impressions matter and they are usually made in presentation. Your nail polish colour carries a piece of your personality however, a colour that can do for one job might not necessarily work for another. Campus Bee brings you diverse ideas on colours to rock the different work environments this intern period.
In a Conservative office environment
While you may not put on a suit or maxi-clothes, for offices with business formal dress codes like Investment Banks, Law Firms and the likes, go with very neutral polish or mild pink. Basically anything very light and sheer that almost looks like have no polish at all. Trendy neon polish (very bright colours) is the worst choice you could ever have here.
In business casual office environments:
Even with a little more flexibility in these environments, when it comes to nail color, don’t get too crazy here either. It’s still a good idea to stick with neutrals and don’t go too dark or too bright.
In the fashion & creative industries:
These industries are much more liberal. If something is on-trend, It’s only fair that you rock it. However, just because there is more room for fun doesn’t mean your polish should be so loud that it distracts.
Hands on jobs
If you’re for any “hands-on” internship where you’re really using your hands say;chefs, doctors, and engineers and jobs of the like. You probably shouldn’t have any polish on at all. Clean natural nails are the thing for you.
Never…
Ladies, some nail polish colors are simply a No-do for internship, Period. Even though your supervisor might not even notice, please stay away from sparkles, neon, stripes, most nail art, and anything else that seems more appropriate for New Years Eve.
