Nakawa Division Mayor, Ronald Balimwezo Nsubuga is no big joke. He on Saturday ordered youths to get off their seats and clean up kyambogo sports grounds where partial celebrations for the International youth day were being held under the theme “Youth as ambassadors of Peace.”
“These bottles are so dangerous to the environment and the future eco-system,” said Mayor Nsubuga as he declined to continue his speech not until the grounds were cleared of all littered plastic water bottles.
When that was over and done with- and the crystal clear green grass in recognition, the mayor cautioned the youth to stay in school if they ever want to be as successful as he is.
Exemplifying himself, he exposed his amputated left leg inspiring the youth that they really can be successful at anything.
“Being disabled didn’t stop me from doing a Masters in Civil Engineering and lecturing at Kyambogo for 14 years”- he said.
“Stay in school, be orderly, disciplined, focused and listen if you want to prosper.” he tipped.
Mayor Nsubuga was of late recognized as the Top Emerging Leader in Africa and is set to acquire a fully sponsored Common Wealth PHD in civil engineering in London.
After his speech, he awarded the 6 run winners of the 5km #Youth4Peace run around Kyambogo hill with medals and gifts.
