Navio, real name Daniel Kigozi, will headline the 2024 Makerere University run slated for Sunday, August 18, 2024.
The rapper will bring Hip-hop to the run to entertain guests and all participants at the run.
The Makerere University run 2024 is organised by the Makerere University Endowment Fund which is chaired by Navio’s mother Maggie Kigozi.
This year’s Makerere University run (Mak Run) is dedicated to supporting students with special needs.
Proceeds from the run will be used to set up a disability support unit dedicated to students with special needs as part of the university’s efforts to promote inclusivity in learning spaces.
Dr. Maggie Kigozi, at a press briefing in July, said that the unit will empower the differently-abled students to achieve their full potential.
“By constructing a dedicated disability support unit, we aim to provide these students with the necessary facilities, support services, and accommodations to help them thrive. This unit represents our aspirations of inclusivity, a place where all students can feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their full potential,” she said.
The Mak run 2024 is organised under the theme: Run for students with disabilities.
