The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has granted permission to higher institutions of learning to carryout online learning amidst this lockdown.
In a letter dated 12th July 2021, the executive director of NCHE Professor Mary Okwakol permitted higher institutions of learning to adopt online distance e-learning system following the Covid-19 restrictions affecting learners.
‘’Institutions permitted to implement the ODeL system should follow the guidelines for adoption of an emergency ODeL system issued by National Council for higher Education,’’ She advised.
On the issue of online examinations, institutions were warned on administering examinations unless they have been permitted by the council
“Institutions should not administer online examinations unless prior permission and approval has been granted by the National Council for Higher Education,’’ Prof Okwakol cautioned.
Various universities are engaging their students on online platforms such as zoom, Google meet while others had started preparing students on how to do online examinations by administering what they termed as ‘’online mock examinations’’
