Ndejje University has been selected top of Universities across Africa to partner with European Union (EU) in improving standards of education as well as enhancing continental accredited research with the aim of attaining global recognition with universities in Europe and the rest of the world.
In a meeting that was held today at the graduate school of the university in Rubaga, European Union signed a partnership program that seeks to improve overall study programs taught at Ndejje. According to the head of delegation from EU Dr. Gebbs Notoudo, the partnership seeks to propel Ndejje to heights through teaching and enhancing improved research methods just like in other European first class universities.
‘’Ndejje is a great university and EU would like to partner and link it to universities across Europe and other parts of Africa. We believe through our exchange programs the university will rank higher and as well bring in a lot of innovation and research,” Gebbs said.
Among the benefits of the partnership will be improved research enhancements, improving on the quality of education at the university, staff and student exchange programs with universities across Europe, Africa and the rest of the world. Ndejje will also be able to share information and improve innovation a move that will propel the University to global and continental status of world’s renown universities.
According to the university’s quality assurance officer Dr. Ritah Makumbi, Ndejje will keep track in innovation and technology with other Universities chosen in Nigera, South Africa among others.
“This partnership will improve research and proposal and as well foster greater friendship with the European Union chosen university’s across the globe,”Dr. Ritah told our reporter.
However, head of EU delegation declined to state the criteria under which Ndejje was chosen among the few universities within Africa to enter the partnership since Ndejje was the only university selected in East Africa.
The University vice chancellor welcomed the partnership saying it will greatly benefit both the staff and students and the university at large and ensuring they stick to their vision of imparting quality education and producing professional individuals. The meeting was attended by delegates from the European Union, chairperson and representatives from Association of African Universities(AAU), dignitaries from the university as well as top administrators among others.
