Uganda’s flag is flying high in the city of Mekelle, a stone’s throw away distance from Adis Ababa.
Makerere University is not well known for sports apart from the strikes, sexual harassment and festivities like Rolex roasting. Despite being Uganda’s largest University, the Ivory tower has already lost a number of games to universities hailing from Zambia, Nigeria and Ethiopia.
However, Ugandan universities like Uganda Christian University (UCU), Ndejje University and Kampala University have so far won several gold medals with Ndejje taking the lead in the medal tally. Ndejje has also taken their sporting skills to another level by beating almost every university they face in every game while Nkumba University continues to struggle to maintain their lead in volleyball together with Kampala University (KU) and Banda based Kyambogo University.
