Ndejje University and faculty of mass communication is still in shock after their own final year student Sandra Najjemba succumbed to cancer on tuesday this week, just a week away from sitting her final papers.
She was admitted two weeks back at Mulago Cancer Institute after discovering that she had cancer. At the time of her death, Najjemba was receiving treatment at the Institute though unfortunately death did not spare her life.
Najjemba who hails from Kikube Village in Luwero district was a third year finalist at the main campus of Ndejje University in Luwero. She was just a week away from sitting her final papers that are to begin on Monday, 8th, 2017. At the time of her death, she was among the organizing committee for the upcoming finalist dinner this Saturday.
Her classmates described her as a calm, kind soul who did not know how to argue and was always active in class activities.
“Sandra was the best pal I have ever heard, she was so kind to everyone and a smile is what she greets you with when you approach her,” one close friend and classmate Irene Matovu eulogized.
According to close family sources, her cancer was not identified early in time since she was doing fine and showed no signs of being sick. Najjemaba Sandra was laid to rest Wednesday at her ancestral home in Kukube village in Luwero District. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
