Ndejje University volleyball team will represent the country at the Africa International confederation Volleyball Championships in Tunisia after their unbeaten record recorded at the last East Africa University games.
The University team is in final stages of their preparation with intensified training sessions taking place both at the main and Kampala training centers. The volleyball team comprises of a number of prominent players who have been part of the winning team that has made Ndejje University win East Africa tournament and University games a couple of times now.
Among the other countries that will be participating in the tournament are, Mozambique, South Africa, Morrocco, Egypt, Cameroon and the host Tunisia among others. Uganda will be represented by Ndejje University women Volleyball team, this was after a voting by the volleyball federation of Uganda where Ndejje team was unanimously voted to be the flag bearer of the country at the tournament.
According to the senior sports tutor at the sports department of Ndejje University, Muhumuuza Kato Wilfred, this is an opportunity to make Uganda shine and let the world know that Ndejje sports team is the best in the country.
“We are currently training a lot and the team spirit is high, I can say we are confident of bringing the trophies home,” he said.
The games are expected to be played from April 4th, 2017 to April 16, 2017 in the different stadiums of Kelibia city in Tunisia.
