This year, Ndejje University will be celebrating 25 years since its inception in 1992. The event will highlight the major achievements by the university and also recognize the hard work by each member of staff and pioneer students, as well as all parties that have played a tremendous role in pushing Ndejje to heights it is in now.
According to the dean of students, Wilfred Muhumuza Kato, the university administrators are yet to set the date for the big celebrations and as well as the theme for the event.
“We will be celebrating many years of abundant achievements. we seek to recognize the roles played by each hardworking member since the time the university was set up in 1992,” Kato said in an interview with campus Bee.
The university is on an Anglican church foundation and privately owned. Prof Livingstone Walusimbi is known to be its first vice chancellor.
However, its gates are open to any individual irrespective of tribe and religion. Currently, the university has two campuses with the main campus in Luwero while the other campus is in Mengo along Bulintuma road in Kampala.
Currently, there Kampala campus has over 5,000 students studying under day and weekend programs at Kampala campus. It employs over 400 staff members, teaching and non teaching.
The main event will be headlined with several activities to mark the silver jubilee on a date yet to be confirmed. Campus Bee will keep you updated.
