Ndejje University sets date for its 17th graduation, 2800 graduands to be passed out

Ndejje University has set October, 13th, 2017 as date for this year’s graduation ceremony for last year’s finalists students of both Kampala and main campuses of the university.

The graduation ceremony is to take place at the main campus in Luwero District and a total of 2,800 students will be awarded with PhDs, degrees, diplomas and certificates in various courses.
This year’s theme of the graduation is “Sustained capacity building and innovations as we celebrate 25 years of God’s grace” and the first lady and minister of education Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni is expected to be the chief guest.

In his maiden speech in the graduation handbook, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo encouraged the graduands to uphold the values of the university and exploit the job market with knowledge, skill and discipline instilled in them from the university.

He also thanked the government of Uganda for its efforts in improving quality of education for all Ugandans and called upon the government to fulfil its pledges made by H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of tarmacking the 8km Bombo-Ndejje road and providing equipment to fully equip the science laboratory of the university.

Ndejje University recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and the university has set up several land marks for that event.

According to the graduation program, graduands and guests are expected to arrive at the venue as below
08:00am Graduands take their seats
08:30am Guest take their seats
09:00 am VIPs arrive and take their seats
09:30am The chief guest arrives
The chancellor’s procession
09:40am The East Africa national anthem, Ndejje University, Buganda anthems are sung; the                 prayer
09:50am The Chancellor constitutes the 18th graduation
09:55am The guild president 2016/17 addresses the congregation
10:00am The Vice Chancellor addresses the congregation
10:20am Short musical interlude / Refreshments
10:40am The chancellor’s address; invites the guest of honor to address the congregation
10:50am Guest of honor addresses the congregation
11:00am The VC calls upon Faculty deans to present the graduands for award of degrees and conferment of degrees
01:00am Closing Prayer
01:00pm The chancellor dissolves the congregation; Anthems are sung.
According to the chairperson of the organizing committee for the graduation, Ms. Florence Nakamya, commencement lectures for the graduands are to begin on 6th October, 2017 at MTN Arena Lugogo.

For one to be able to graduate this year, he or she must have sat all papers and cleared all semesters’ tuition from year one. A person must have also paid a graduation fee of Ushs. 493,000 for undergraduates and Ushs. 543,000 for post graduates.

This year’s graduation is slated for October 13th, 2017 and graduation cards shall permit only two visitors accompanying the graduand.
