Police have sealed-off a scene in Nkumba, Katabi Town council, Wakiso District where a suspected bomb exploded last night.
Residents said that they heard an explosion in the night at about 11pm.
Mr Richard Anvuko, the Asst O.C/CID says the police bomb squad is still investigating the incident and will brief journalists shortly after.
No deaths or injuries have been reported yet.
The explosion was heard a few meters from Nkumba University.
However, Mr John Byamugisha, the Officer in charge of Operations at Entebbe Main police station told journalists that they suspect the explosion could have been as a result of a short circuit.
“We have collected samples from the scene which we are taking to the Government Analytical Laboratory to examine,” he said.
Police has also taken the tenant of the destroyed rental unit only identified as Ishoke to help in their investigations.
