Nkumba University has partnered with Media Lab Entebbe in order to offer practical skills to journalism students.
Professor Jude Lubega, the vice chancellor Nkumba University signed the memorandum of understanding with Media Lab.
Professor Lubega believes that the partnership will help groom their journalism students into better professionals.
“Media lab is well a very practical organization and we feel that as a university we can benefit quiet a lot from sphere of media. Our students are going to come out as better students after going through the hands of this group of journalists,” Professor Lubega said.
Dr. Anne Abaho, the dean school of social sciences at Nkumba University said that the partnership will help them make the journalism course more practical as students get to learn from experienced people in the field.
Mr Adam Walusimbi, the digital chief at Media Lab said that the partnership will enhance practical teaching and learning of media.
“As Media Lab, we pride ourselves as one of the organizations in Entebbe that is really good at training media practicals. This MoU provides one of the best relationships in regards to teaching students of Nkumba and all other people who may be interested in learning media things to do with photography, videography among others,” he said.
Nkumba University believes that this partnership will help them become more practical as opposed to theoretical.
The partnership will mainly benefit students pursuing journalism and mass communication at Nkumba University.
