While speaking at the Busitema University 11th Graduation ceremony virtually, the Minister of Education and Sports Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni thanked President Museveni for sending the 15 million school going children home, before revealing that no COVID-19 related death among students has been reported by the Ministry of Health.
“No death has been recorded among the students,” she announced before congratulating Busitema University, academic staff and the grandaunts for working hard.
While presiding over the graduation ceremony virtually from State House Entebbe on Friday, President Yoweri Museveni urged educationists and parents to guide students on what courses to pursue basing on the job market.
Education without aim is very dangerous especially for the family who spend a lot of money on children doing courses which don’t have market, it is a very big mistake.” Museveni said.
Museveni further urged students to aim at courses that cover commercial agriculture, industry, services, ICT and public service. He confessed that courses offered at Busitema and the marine course at Namasagali are very important.
In his advice to students and fresh graduates, the President told them to always be tolerant and patient whenever they are faced with challenges and pursue the channel of dialogue other than confrontation.
“Dialogue is better than confrontation because confrontation will always have negative effects on your personal life,” Museveni advised.
