A section of Makerere University students has vowed to stage a massive strike if their fellow students are not recalled from a suspension.
On Tuesday, suspended fifteen students for, among other things, stealing about 200 forks and damaging the university’s property during a strike.
Among the fifteen students suspended are the notorious Lumumba Hall chairman, Gerald Kamana and Simon Wanyera, the President of the Mak private students Association.
Mary Stuart hall is currently a no-go zone as students have locked themselves inside the hall and are planning to strike on Friday if the administration doesn’t reverse its decision.
Strike leaders who have preferred anonymity say there will be no lectures, courseworks and tests done around the University until these students are called back.
The students here claim their fellow students were suspended after fighting a genuine cause (poor quality meals) and that they really deserve justice.
We shall keep you posted!
