Fresh off breaking the world record for the longest cooking as certified by Guinness World Records, Professional chef Dorcus Bashema Kirabo alias Mama D (proprietor of Mama Ds Keychen) has announced a new location where she intends to extend her cookathon.
And guess what? The location of the restaurant is in vicinity of Kyambogo University (Kyambogo road), something that students are excited about.
A section of reactions seen by this website suggest that the burden of cooking/accessing food amidst campus struggles has been taken of their (students) shoulders.
This comes after Mama Ds record was surpassed by a chef in West Africa, which triggered the former to ‘cook’ an idea for the next move.
Here is what she said: “We are creating a new one (record) and we break its virginity as Ugandans, eno ewedemu supu. All I need is many people in attendance everyday”
In light of the tough economic times, the students consider this as an opportunity to grab food an no/low cost as they promise to swarm the restaurant with ‘all they’ve got’.
As students at Kyambogo prepare to resume the academic year on January 21, we can’t wait to watch the events as they unwrap.
