Following the directive from the President of Uganda HE Y.K Museveni to close all academic institutions in Uganda for 30 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all schools, universities and other learning institutions have shut down on Friday 20th March 2020.
As various universities are currently closed down completely, Ndejje University has resorted to other means of teaching and assessing its students with an aim of utilizing this period.
In the statement issued by the university, it is indicated that while they are at home in this recess, students are going to be given assignments to work on and the reporting dates were announced.
“Faculties and academic instructors are going to pass-on coursework, assignments and reading lists to students to work on during the recess. The university will open on Monday 20th April 2020 if permission has been granted,’’ Ndejje said in the statement.
In addition, Ndejje issued new academic program to be followed when students report back from this mini holiday as follows;
- Weekend students will do coursework Test 1 on Saturday 25th April 2020 and Sunday 26th April 2020.
- Coursework test 2 will run from 2nd May 2020 to 8th may 2020.
- End of semester examinations (practical) will run from 25th May 2020 to 29th May 2020 while theory papers will commence on 1st June 2020 to 12th June 2020.
- The semester will close on 13th June 2020.
