Nkumba University has joined the queue of institutions prioritising vaccination just as mandated by the president of Uganda HE: Yoweri.k. Museveni.
In a letter dated October 11th, Nkumba University, through the acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Jude Lubega, warned it’s staff and students to get vaccinated ahead of the reopening of higher institutions of learning come November 1st.
The University will open its gates for only staff and students who have received at least their first covid19 jab.
“This communication is therefore to inform you that only staff and students who have been vaccinated (at least gotten the 1st dose) shall be allowed to access the university premises. Starting Mon 1 Nov, 2021, the covid19 vaccination certificate shall be required to enter the university.” part of the letter reads.
Campus bee earlier published a story in which the Minister of ICT Dr. Chris Baryomunsi threatened non vaccinated students that they shan’t be allowed at campus premises. Well, it looks like the pages just started to unfold as IUIU and Nkumba have joined the wagon. We await to see if other universities will follow suit
