TV presenter Sheila Gashumba, and daughter to arrested city businessman Frank Gashumba has this afternoon has refuted fleeing rumours.
In a Facebook reply to our article, Gashumba said she’s not fleeing Uganda following her father’s arrest but rather, she is going to be hosting an event in South Africa.
“I will be in South Africa tomorrow to host the STARQT Awards happening on 4th November this Saturday, that I was booked and paid for 4 months ago!! I know the struggle of making sure an event is perfect and I am not about to disappointed the organizers of the event!!
My management in South Africa has also lined up radio and TV interviews for me in South Africa that I have to appear for,” the NTV presenter and Africell ambassador revealed.
The story came in hot on the heels of the Slay Queen father’s arrest today.
Frank Gashumba was arrested from the city center on Monday night by operatives from the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) for allegedly impersonating a defense ministry official and conning some foreigners.
The operatives later went on to search Gashumba’s residence in Bunga, a city suburb and his Industrial area based offices of Sisimuka Uganda. The defense ministry spokesman, Brigadier Richard Karemire confirmed Gashumba’s arrest and the ongoing investigations.
