Former minister Nsaba Buturo has spoken publicly about the death of his daughter, Racheal Ainembabazi Buturo, revealing that she had developed a brain tumour that caused severe headaches and later claimed her life.
Speaking to close associates and family members, Buturo said Racheal, 28, initially complained of persistent headaches, which were later linked to a tumour developing in her brain.
“Something was going on in her body,” Buturo said. “She had a tumour that kept developing.”
The former minister explained that the condition worsened over time, eventually overwhelming her despite medical attention. Her death shocked many due to her young age and active professional life.
Racheal was a Marketing Assistant at Housing Finance Bank, where she worked at the head office in Kololo. The bank described her as a hardworking, ambitious and collaborative staff member who made a strong impression during her time there.
News of her passing drew widespread sympathy from political leaders, corporate institutions, colleagues and members of the public, with many expressing sorrow over the sudden loss.
Earlier reports had indicated that Racheal initially suffered what appeared to be a migraine, but the family has since clarified that the underlying cause was a brain tumour that led to severe complications.
Burial arrangements for Racheal Ainembabazi Buturo are underway, as family and friends prepare to lay her to rest.
Nsaba Buturo thanked those who have stood with the family during the difficult period and asked for continued prayers as they mourn the loss of a daughter he described as loving, promising and full of life.
May her soul rest in peace.
