The National Unity Platform (NUP) secretariat has ruled that Makerere chapter’s vetting process as null and void.
In a meeting held with the party secretariat at Kamwokya on Monday June 27th, 2022, the party agreed to repeat the NUP Mak chapter vetting process.
The head of institutions Musiri David agreed that there were some elements of individual interests among members on the vetting committee.
The decision comes at a time when the party has already released the list of candidates that expressed interests in the party’s flag.
The Makerere University NUP party chapter is yet to decide on what to do next now that the vetting process has been illegalized.
The decision follows a number of complaints and resignations from some members of the executive who faulted the chapter’s vetting process.
Unfortunately, three of the chapter’s intending flag bearers have been suspended from the university and these include Mwesigwa Calvin, Bbosa Price and Kenneth Tushabe.
