Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) Uganda Chapter has announced a total of seventy five (75) bursaries to benefit students at University level from the eastern and northern Uganda.
The bursaries available are for 70% female applicants and 30% male from economically disadvantaged backgrounds of the aforementioned regions of Uganda.
The district legible for this opportunity include; Namayingo, Napal, Kween, Amuria, Abim, Luuka, Nwoya, Agago and Moyo.
According to the announcement, a total of six learning institutions have been partnered with for the roll out of these bursaries namely; Busitema University, Mbarara University of Science and technology (MUST), Gulu University, Uganda Technical College (Elgon), Medical Laboratory technology training school and Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery.
The slots are divided into the following categories of students; University undergraduates (30) slots, Diploma in Nursing (7) slots and Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (8) slots, Diploma in Civil, Water and Electrical Engineering at Uganda Technical College (10) slots and Certificate in Nursing and Midwifery (20) slots for the academic year 2023/2024.
