A total of 27 students have graduated with International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Aga Khan High School in Kampala during a function officiated by Margaret Kigozi, former executive director at Uganda Investment Authority. The received diplomas make these students eligible for university admission.
While speaking at the school’s 13th graduation ceremony on Monday, the Head Teacher, Micheal Musaazi, noted the course is the same as A-Level education and the graduating students automatically qualify to join any university of their choice worldwide.
He added that majority of the students preferred joining international universities in Canada and UK, yet they can also be admitted by Ugandan universities because their qualifications have the same weight as Uganda’s A-Level education.
Musaazi further urged the graduates to give back to the people since they have been equipped with practical skills of how to positively change their communities.
“Endeavour to serve and give back to the country, community and family that has nurtured you. Be inquirers, risk takers but balanced since most of the virtues have been emphasized in your programme,” Musaazi told the graduates.
Apparently, the graduates have been studying subjects like; foreign languages, Chemistry, Physics, English/Literature, Mathematics and Biology. According to Musaazi, the fresh graduates will receive their certificates in July this year.
