Last night, Nana hostel residents showcased the talents in them while responding to a fire alarm that was raised by a fellow resident.
At around 10pm in the night when most residents seemed to be on their way to slumber land (bed), a fellow resident was boiling water in the Old Nana hostel wing to grab a cup of hot tea for a goodnight’s sleep [we all know that was his supper-yes, times are hard, we get it!]
Since the hostel was being powered by a generator at that particular time, the electrical appliances feeding on it seem to have overpowered its capacity causing a short-circuit in the room where water was being boiled, sparking fireworks.
The frightened resident started shouting “fire fire fire” at the immediate view of the sparks.
Hooooo! you should have seen how all residents moved out of their rooms naked taking the stairs as if it was a new version of “Naked Mile for safety” causing a stampede.
Some residents who know how stubborn and scared their fellows can be were man enough to stay in their rooms as if nothing had happened.
There was commotion later as students wondered how such a small parcorator short circuit would deprive them of their sweet sleep.
Calm was later restored as it turned out to be a small problem in one of the rooms.
