On a busy day in Uganda’s Capital – Kampala, a peculiar sight caught the attention of locals. A university graduate, donned in a Kyambogo Graduation gown lifting a stained sack, which is believed to have been containing garbage.
It was a sight that left many city dwellers wondering why someone donned in a graduation gown was picking up trash.
The graduate in question was heard explaining how his search for decent work has been in vain.
“I might not be working in my dream job right now, but I can still make a positive impact in other ways” he said with a drained voice, in Luganda language.
Despite his academic background, he might have taken matters into his own hands, finding a living in collecting the garbage, including plastic waste which in turn, is believed to be sold for cash.
The on-lookers seemingly resonated with him, seeing him as a moving testimony of perseverance and hardwork.
In a world where the pursuit of success often overshadows the importance of making a positive impact, this graduate’s viral photo serves as an inspiration of determination to sail through this thing called life.
