While looking for the freshest news around several universities in the city, Campus Bee lenses have today captured a Madonna Hostel van operating as a taxi. Our reporter was shocked to see the same shuttle that used to carry Kyambogo University students residing in Madonna Hostel looking for passengers in Kampala.
The sharp reporter also captured the conductor of the said shuttle, who was yelling “Sebo sebo ogenda” amid the hard-hitting kasana on a Wednesday.
Campus Bee has since established that Madonna Hostel owners decided to convert the shuttle into a taxi following the continued closure of universities. Just like many other businesses, Madonna Hostel was greatly affected by the closure of universities as clients (students) continue to stay at home following a spike in COVID-19 infections and deaths.
It should be recalled that President Museveni closed all universities in June and no reopening date for physical lectures has been set yet.
