On 26th February, 2022, the Blockchain Club of Uganda held a successful New Year Event with over 123 members in attendance.
Th new year event was held at the College of Engineering Design Art and Technology (CEDAT) Conference Hall in Makerere University.
Attending the event as part of the audience was a wide range of professions, majorly from the technical background with a good turn up from the Good Developer Students Club, Makerere University and Kyambogo University chapters.
Among the presenters was Mr. Mucunguzi Moses, the Blockchain Club of Uganda Guild Head who relayed insights in Blockchain Technology, Mr. Ojok Hezron with a presentation about NFT’s, case for the MintBase Market place and Mr. David Lumala, the Blockchain Club of Uganda Technical Head who walked the technical dominated audience through writing smart contracts on Near with Rust and Solidity.
The event was also graced by artists who enjoyed the NFT’s session and DeFi enthusiasts including Brindon Bamwiine, the FTX Campus ambassador for Makerere University.
The Blockchain Club of Uganda lead, Mucunguzi used the occasion to implore building on Blockchain especially those that preserve the environment which is a unique feature of Near Protocol.
He also added that their goal to setup a club is still realistic with some of their developers taking Near Developer courses (Instructor Course) to help onboard other developers.
