We all emanate from different cultures and ethnic groups speaking different dialects portraying our true humble beginnings. At times we have to shun modernity and bury our heads in tradition and speak our native mother tongue.
Ndejje University today held their cultural wear day that entails one dressing to impress in traditional attires, speak his or her native language and if possible laugh in the most local way.
Ndejje campus has today been littered with traditional succulent colors and attires ranging from Gomesi to Kanzu and Kitenge to traditional cloaks. Furthermore, some students have gone ahead to wear ’ tangiz’(Locally made shoes from tyres or sisal mended crafts)
According to the dean of students, Mr.Muhumuza Wilfred, He termed it as an opportunity to cherish our culture and tell the world where we come from. “It is a day to share and appreciate our cultures, a golden opportunity to cherish where we come from and as a sign of expressing our pride in who we are” , he said.
