On Tuesday 25th February, the Kyambogo University guild presidential aspirants were meant to return the nomination forms back to the Kyambogo University Electoral Commission. The nomination forms were got online from the KYU Electoral Commission website.
Different camps started the day with much vigor as supporters shouted all their lungs out to prove their might. At around 1pm, Banda was full of endless noise from corner to corner. The mood was starting to boil.
By 4pm, it was show time. The mood was now boiling. All the different camps started their walk within campus and around Banda as vuvuzelas and whistles rent the air.
Mbaziira John senior, a People Power flag bearer, clad in a red overall and beret started off with an all-red camp. Red took over every chunk of earth they stepped on. Clad in red bandannas and berets, the People Power camp shook up Banda, making endless rounds.
Makerere University’s Guild President Kateregga Julius escorted Mbaziira in the capacity of the coordinator of People Power for all institutions in Kampala Metropolitan Area.
Trust Mugisha Nduwayo led his all-blue group as they chanted the Forum for Democratic Change(FDC) slogans. This camp rocked every paths they went through. Indeed their might resounded around the Banda walls and campus at large. Many cute girls lined his camp, dancing queer strokes to the playing music.
Markmot Nadiel, Julius Ceaser, Mugeni Sharif engaged themselves in as independent moving with their supporters to the nomination tent.
David Ochola led his Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party with their supporters to the nomination tent as Mwesigwa Jonathan led his yellow National Resistance Movement ( NRM) crew.
The political Virgin surprised every one when he decided to join People Power within hours to nomination. This political virgin, a Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) party flag bearer, saw that he had no crowd in the morning hours and decided to change colors. He came back in a full red overall and beret, and guess what! It worked! Within few moments, he had already gathered a massive crowd which led him to the nomination tent.
The nomination day at Kyambogo University was full scuffles and ugly images as camps engaged in fights. We are going to give you more about this story.
