Yet again, thousands of Makerere University graduands showed up at the university’s Freedom Square to take part in this year’s graduation ceremony. Today was day two the four-day graduation period that started yesterday, January 14th in Kampala.
Today’s ceremony was comprised of graduands from College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS), College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS) and College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Bio-security (CoVAB). The ceremony was attend by the university Chancellor Prof Ezra Suruma, the Vice Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, among other officials.

While delivering his speech, Prof Nawangwe urged the fresh graduates to live a responsible life after telling them how lucky they are to have walked through the gates of Makerere University.
“Remember that you are among the privileged minority that can go through the gates of Makerere. Remember that you are now a responsible adult equipped to live a responsible life” Nawangwe said.

During the ceremony. Atuhaire Evelyn was awarded the best student in Business Administration who studied on a scholarship offered by MasterCard Foundation. Four other beneficiaries of the scholarship scooped first class degrees.
