Friday night at Makerere University was a night worth spending for any campus student whether you were a fresher or not. Freshmen of Makerere University drowned in serious booze who later stormed the dance floor with zero shyness, yesterday at the freedom square.
The students started flocking the Venue as early as 7pm before the stage was completely set up. The Africell powered 2017 freshers ball featured a number of artists including upcoming Makerere singers, B2C, Fille, Ykee Benda, Khalifah Aganaga as well as former blue 3’s Cindy Sanyu who wrapped up the performances. Amooti Omubalanguzi represented the comedy world together with his new Amarula family crew.
The event turned chaotic for some minutes when Lumumba residents disrupted the agenda and stormed the stage to pray for their deceased colleague Derrick aka Dero, who passed away few days ago. Not even police was able to stop the powerful Lumumba dudes who transformed church songs of worship to funny and vulgar songs. They later left the stage after finishing their hilarious activities.
Unlike other formal events, there was no speech from Makerere administration leaders, not even from the guild leadersip. It was a strictly party event that featured music all the way. Music continued till the late hours of the night even when all the invited artists had finished performing.
