On Friday, Kyambogo university students witnessed the third and very last guild campaign rally as the 9 guild aspirants were paraded to re-affirm their manifestos in front of the students. This rally comes in after the guild president aspirants were tasked to take part in an open debate that took place on Wednesday right after the first rally had happened last week.
The nine guild aspirants including Amanya German, Akena Eddy, Muhumuza Abraham, Ssemuju Joel, Opesen Paul, Okot Fredrick, Mugisha Richard, Lubanga Nasifu and Kirenzi Haruna were all given platform to air out and re-affirm manifestos and answer students questions .
This rally marked the very last official campaigns and the chairperson of the electoral commission Asimwe Robert used this platform to sound a warning to all candidates that whoever will be found moving with masses and cars with loud music after that event would face the consequences.
“This rally marks the very last official campaigns and whoever will be found having masses of students walking around campus with loud music will be penalized,” Asimwe warned the candidates.
The official guild elections will be carried out next week Tuesday the 6th March 2018 proceeded by hall elections on Wednesday the 7th March 2018.
