Yesterday evening, the Makerere University guild contestants were rallying for support at Livingston hall.
The contestants before being allowed to address, they are expected to drop some money in the hall’s culture boxes. After this ritual, the contestants are blessed and allowed to address the students. However yesterday, Some candidates were denied speaking opportunity after failure to satisfy the culture box demands of over 50k.
The candidates who went through didn’t waste the moment and used all ways possible to draw attention. One of the candidates Henry Kihika went as far as dancing to a Lucky Dube song to exploit his potentials to the students.
Some candidates have made a life time’s investment to have campaign songs recorded for them just like Zilitwawula Abdul Kareem. The others have invested in facilitating their supporters with Waragi in sachets. Students have been seen sipping kitoko and the likes during the recent rallies.
