Today, the body of Prof Lawrence Mukiibi who also doubles as the director St Lawrence schools and colleges was taken to St Lawrence University for final send off from the students. As an entrepreneur dealing in mainly education, highly educated people including Captain Mike Mukula, Edward Ssekandi were spotted rocking their graduation gowns as a way of high respect to the fallen professor.
The venue where the ceremony took place was strictly decorated by white, and a red carpet all over the place where his white coffin was placed. The Professor’s body arrived in a fleet of cars escorted by three ambulances as one of his school bands led the casket convoy towards the venue. All number plates in the convoy were replaced by stickers reading “RIP PROF L MUKIIBI”
The ceremony was kicked off by Pastor Robert Kayanja with a prayer and later presented his speech. Pastor Kayanja mourns Prof Mukiibi as a tough business negotiator but an excellent neighbor whom he shared with parking space and event venue every time one of the two had massive crowds.
Like he requested before dying, most mourners turned up wearing white outfits in a way of honoring his wishes. They also lighted candles to respect the University’s motto “Light Your Candle”.
