PICTORIAL: Prof Mukiibi’s All-White Requiem Mass at Rubaga Cathedral

In his will, the deceased St. Lawrence schools proprietor, Prof Lawrence Mukiibi requested that his burial be an all-white affair. The entreprenuer desired to change the books of history to stop attaching every bad thing to the “Black” colour.

It’s noticeable that on most burials in Uganda, people don on black clothes as a sign of grief. This is not going to happen at Prof Mukiibi’z burial though. At the requiem mass happening now at Rubaga Cathedral, everything is white from Prof Lawrence Mukiibi’s body suit, to the coffin, the flowers and the mourners.The will stipulates that his life should be celebrated breaking the crying and grief monotony.
