The Leaders For The Future program often abbreviated as LFTF is a Rotaract Club project which involves the mentorship of younger minds often interactors about major global concerns and ways forward in-order to prepare them both mentally and emotionally to deal with them once they are older.
This year the Rotaract club of Kyambogo in conjunction with that of Masaka and multiple well wishers launched the LFTF at Blessed Sacrament Kimanya under the leadership of President Lewis concerning climate change and youth’s role to save the environment. A project which was graced by sister school Kako S.S.S.
The Masaka based project involved the mentorship of students divided into groups, presentations from both hosts and guests, tree planting by present and past club presidents and finally entertainment which then turned into a exclusive after party. Awards for participants included certificates, tags and a shield for the best performing club.
“LFTF is a program we have been running for about 5 years now. Its carried out in multiple schools every year and this is merely one edition amongst many. We believe these interactors have lots of untapped potential and the objective is to simply steer them into the right direction early enough. This year we tackled one of the most boring but important topics in the line of climate change and believe the objective has been met.” quoted president Lewis in his concluding remarks.
